LinkedIn…the professionals social network.

At the time of writing this (early 2016) LinkedIn has over 400 MILLION users. That is a lot of people who could potentially be a prospect, a client, a referral, or even a business partner.

I’ve been on LinkedIn longer than most. Almost since it started, and I’ve seen a lot of changes happen to the platform and its uses in that time. I’ve learned, adjusted, and adapted my own use to fit my needs at any one time.

The thing is that with a social media platform like LinkedIn, change is the only constant. And there are a million different “Guru’s” out there who will tell you their way is the best way.

I don’t pretend to know everything there is to know about LinkedIn. I also don’t pretend that every tip or trick will work for you. I know that the LinkedIn profile for a sales rep at a plastics manufacturing company does not work for a rep at a software company. Different industries, different clientele, different story to be told.

What I can promise is that I will break down my advice into simple, easy to follow, instructions that HAVE WORKED FOR ME, and how you can use them yourself. And as theories go, I’ll explain why I think it worked for me and why I think it will work for any professional.

Also, for a vast majority of the information I will be giving you, I will not be assuming you have a paid subscription to LinkedIn (Sales Navigator as its called). I believe that sometimes it takes money to make money, but with LinkedIn I’ve found it rare where I couldn’t get or find something I was looking for with my free subscription.

The skills required to be an effective with LinkedIn are not rocket science. They also aren’t trade secrets. They are common sense skills and actions that anyone can put into effect with the proper instruction. And that’s where I come in.

What To Expect

LinkedIn is as much an art as it is a science. Some things are set in stone and should be practiced by all (have a profile picture), while other aspects are about telling your story to your target audience.

My goal is to help you understand the basics of using the platform along with detailed actions you can take to be more successful with it. No matter what your goal may be.

The fact that you’re on this page means you specifically requested a little extra help and guidance when it comes to using LinkedIn. Whether you’re in them market for a new career, just started your career, or are simply looking to expand your professional brand, I can help.
