Welcome To The Sales Pro BlogWelcome to The Sales Pro Blog.

My name is Johnny Bravo.

I have to be honest with you. When I began writing this introduction I had a hard time figuring out what to write about.

…great start to a new blog right? Writers block…

I mean I don’t really need to tell you about myself or my sales experience. You can find that out on my About Page.

And to simply throw out some random sales technique, tip, or trick didn’t seem like an adequate idea. After all I’ll have plenty of time for those, as well as the time to introduce them.

I definitely am not going to tell you that I am the best sales professional alive. As Margaret Thatcher said, “Power is like being a lady… if you have to tell people you are, you aren’t.”

So after some care consideration I thought I’d begin with why I started this site and give you a few ideas of the things you can expect to see as a return visitor.

Why The Sales Pro Blog?

In the last year or so I got really into the whole internet marketing thing. At first I was building niche sites with the intent on selling affiliate products and getting Google AdSense revenue. And I was doing really well creating sites, making money, and learning all there was to know.

But then because of some shady techniques I probably shouldn’t have used, I got my AdSense account banned.

Oops…

But perhaps it was a good thing. It made me stop and re-evaluate why I was creating those sites and what I should be writing about.

I found that I was looking at internet marketing and blogging the wrong way. I was blogging to make money when what I should have been doing all along was blogging to help people.

When I came to this realization I took a long hard look at myself to figure out what my strengths were and what I was best suited to provide value in. And it came to me.

…Sales…

I’ve been in sales my entire professional career. I’ve had general and ad-hoc professional sales training. And I’ve learned a lot of valuable lessons along the way that I always love to share.

This became especially apparent recently when I started a new job as a software sales rep. I had started the same day as another rep who didn’t have the sales experience I have had. And for the three months of training we had I was very enthusiastic whenever he asked for my advice as it relates to sales.

So I decided, why not create a platform for me to do that on a continuing basis that could last the test of time?

And so The Sales Pro Blog was born.

What The Sales Pro Blog Will Be About?

As you can imagine the high level theme will be sales but there is a lot that goes into being a great sales professional. And I am learning how to be great everyday.

With every client appointment, phone call, book, article, discussion, etc I get better and better. And as you read my posts and join in on the discussion, I hope to provide that same growth to you.

I’ll write about a wide variety of topics that I feel relate to the sales profession.

Topics such as

    1. Prospecting
    2. Personal Branding
    3. Client Retention
    4. Negotiation
    5. Customer Service
    6. Presentation Skills
    7. Sales Training
    8. Sales Management

In no way is that list all encompassing but it gives you a general idea of what you’ll find here. And for each topic I will try to frame them up as best as I can.

I know there are an infinite amount of topics I could cover that relate to sales. And I will try to cover as many of them as I can think of but I’m only one person with one mind. And I have studied sales for a long time.

Sales is an art and a science. To say you know everything means you don’t know enough. ~Tweet This!

So sometimes I am going to need help. And that’s where you come in. If you ever come across a topic I write about that you’d like more explanation on, let me know.

If you have an idea you’d like me to write about, let me know.

If you’re interested in writing a post for The Sales Pro Blog, let me know.

I’m open to any and all ideas.

But in the mean time I’ll keep a consistent pace of posting. Except for the first two months my plan is to publish 2-3 post a week, usually covering one or two topics a month.

The first two months will be a little different though. I am gonig to have a hard time helping people with sales if they can never find my site. So I’ll steadily build up my number of posts for the first month, and then month two (April) I will post twice a day every weekday. This should help Google pick me up and get traffic started.

Of course an even better way to get the word out is for you to help by sharing my posts and this blog as a whole with your friends and colleagues. Feel free to copy and paste the address to The Sales Pro Blog or simply use the share buttons at the end of this post.

Resource Page

Every once in a while I’ll mention a book I’ve read or an article I thought was really inspiring. I might also talk about the tools I use to build this site.

When I do that I’ll be sure to post links to them on the Resource Page so you’ll always be able to quickly find them.

Sales Pro Blog Newsletter

The last thing I’d like to mention is the newsletter signup box you probably noticed at the top of the sidebar.

If you’re interested in receiving weekly emails with great tips and tricks that I’ve used as a sales rep then you’ll definitely want to signup for the Sales Pro Blog Newsletter.

To get started fill out the below information and confirm you’d like to join the newsletter.

I TAKE PRIVACY VERY SERIOUSLY SO YOU WILL ONLY RECEIVE EMAILS FROM ME, WRITTEN BY ME.

I won’t ever sell your email or send you spam. And if I ever email you about a product, service, or book it’s because I think it is of true value and I personally use it myself.
